I am now 14 weeks since surgery. At my 12 week checkup the doctor simply said, "Wow, I don't know what it is you are doing but you are doing something right." I followed strictly the supplements outlined by Kalidasa along with a healthy diet cutting out all caffeine, soda, most sugars, and cut way back on animal fats. He cleared me to go without the boot, which he originally said would take until late May. On a side note, the physical therapists are impressed with how well the range of motion is coming back, and the fact that I don't swell as a normal patient after a break this severe would. Thank you is all I can say for helping me beat this fracture in half the time.

You should give Cissus Quadrangularis (bit of a moutful) a try. It's an ancient ayurvedic herb famed for it's Fracture healing properties. Many studies done on it. It stimulates Osteoblast creation and other things i'm not qualified to say :-)

In any case, im currently nursing a scaphoid after a bone graft, screw, and cast. 1.5 months to go (of 4 months). Did the initial injury in 1996, which developed into a non-union over the next 10 years or so, but I was also bodybuilding too. Just had a new xray/cast change this morning and the doc said healing was "better than expected". I am doing 3x3 cissus per day, L-Arginine, Calcium + Vit D3, ZMA and GABA before bed, and Glutamine & BCAA's in the morning. Gonne heal this thing!

Had my 5 week xrays last week. 15 full days with all of the supplements and the doctor was impressed. I was 3 to 4 weeks ahead of where he thought I would be and said I had the bone growth of an 18 year old. Can't wait to see the xrays at the 8 week mark!

Thanks, they had to reattach at least one of the ligaments, ended up with one plate and nine screws. Broke the fibula clean, but the tibia was basically shattered on the end at the joint. No weight for 3 months, then a walking boot for the next 3 so you can see why I would be hopeful. Will keep you updated.

@James Six months! I hope it is much faster than that too. I look forward to hearing from you in three or four months to see how you are doing. There's supplements for the ligaments too that you may want to get to help speed that recovery. Ligaplex 2 from Standard Process is the best I've found.

@Chris Sorry to hear about your son, that's rough. I did heal pretty fast. The problem though was gaining the strength back, and there was some ligament issue in the elbow that took really long to heal. Not sure when he starts practice, but he'll heal faster than I did because of his youth.
