Hi. I’ve just stumbled across the term Adrenal Fatigue in a search to find out why I feel so horrible all of the time. After looking at the symptoms, I can honestly say I have 75% of them. I’ve purchased your book today. I’m 46 years old and am a semi recovering methamphetamine user. (clean for a month or two only to start using again) The only reason why I started using this drug was for the energy. I still require large amounts of caffeine, which don’t work for any extended period of time. I’m assuming that meth wrecks havoc with the adrenal glands also? I have a herniated disc between L4 and L5 since 1999. I’ve had epidural steroid injections in the past which helped a lot. For the last 5 years (timing is synonymous to when I started using meth), I’ve had horrible back pain and can hardly walk. The pain feels different than the herniated disc pain. This is more muscular and stretches across my lower back… feeling like its across the top portion of my gluteal muscles. Is it possible that this pain is also associated with adrenal exhaustion? I really want my life back. I’m tired of the pain.

Wanda, Yes, all drugs legal or otherwise put a strain on the adrenal glands. Amphetamines and caffeine work by stimulating the adrenal glands to produce much more hormone than is usual which drains them pretty thoroughly.

Lower back pain is very common with adrenal fatigue. Follow the information in the book and you’ll likely recover quickly. Some factors may slow things down though like age and general health.

I am 57 years old and stuggle with Adrenal Fatigue as well. I also just found out that I am allergic to Dairy, Yeast, Wheat and Gluten products. I have Candida and Leaky Gut syndrom as well as a bad back that I have had for over 30 years. I have no energy whatsoever. Just typing this to you is a major chore. I look forward to seeing what your book has to say. Thank you-Cindy

@Cindy Eliminating your allergens should help a lot. Glad you were able to discover that one. I’m not sure which book you are looking at, if it’s the one on adrenal fatigue then you will surely find some help soon, especially if you get on the recommended herbs and supplements. My best adrenal fatigue protocol is at the length. As for leaky gut, I will be creating something for that soon. Feel free to bug me about it as I get caught up in things sometimes.

I am 53 years old and have struggled with so many ailments since my 30′s. Living in a house while we built it ourselves exposed me to an overload of toxins. I have constantly sought out doctors and natural protocols for 23 years now. After a hysterectomy and several diagnosis , I have tried every holistic doctors advice within a 100 mile radius, including cleanses for yeast and eliminating gluten, I am now told I have Hoshimotos Thyroiditis. All of my symptoms sound like adrenal fatigue but I keep getting people telling me about “underlying causes” of everything with which I am diagnosed. I have tried tons of herbal supplements and natural hormone replacements to which I react badly. I am in debt from trying so many uninsured tactics. I constantly feel like I have infection and swollen glands. I wish I could figure the bottom line. Does infection cause inflammation that causes adrenal fatigue that leads to Hoshimotos that attacks the thyroid that embalances the hormones that causes the symptoms??? I keep praying for a bottom line so the treatment actually heals. . .

@Donna, your case is a bit more complicated than just adrenal fatigue though it sounds like that is one of your issues. Detoxification is something to consider. It doesn’t have to be expensive, hot baths for a good sweat for example. Having a really clean diet is another good idea, eliminating most if not all grains, except sprouted. Chronic infection is usually not cleared because of heavy metals, the pathogen is hidden from the immune system because of the metals. Sweat helps remove metals too. Chlorella is another great way to eliminate metals. Have you been tested for Lyme disease? Eliminating metals is one of the best treatments for that as well. You might also consider some calming herbs, they will help with the fight or flight you are likely stuck in.
